Job Opportunity: Lead Pastor
Core Responsibilities:
Provide and coordinate church leadership in all aspects with focus on:
Leading weekly church service and sermon presentation
Building church membership
Community outreach
Teaching and leading Bible studies
Counseling
Focus Areas:
Approachability - maintain a friendly, accepting, and non confrontational demeanor and represent the First Congregational Church of Toulon in the same manner.
Communication focus - support open, honest, clear and concise two-way communication between yourself and church members, steering committees, and community leaders.
Compassion - display empathy, care, and assistance to all of God’s children regardless of religious affiliation and lifestyle choices
Leadership - inspire and guide church and community members throughout their journeys of faith and service
Love and acceptance - promote a positive, welcoming environment at all services and events representing First Congregational Church of Toulon .
Requirements and Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent, required
Bachelor's degree with focus in theology or divinity, required; masters, preferred
Church ordination
Deep understanding and passion for our faith
Experience working for the church as an assistant, youth, outreach, or associate pastor
Experience writing and delivering sermons
Oral presentation skills
